Tips & Tricks To Looking & Feeling Awake

#1 Splashing cold water on your face at the end of cleansing will close your pores back up and help prevent break outs, stimulate the skin and feel very refreshing!

#2 Put something cold under your eyes. It could be spoons, tea bags, cucumbers, whatever you want! The cold temperature will reduce the puffiness under the eyes. Not to mention, it feels amazing on your tired eyes.

#3 Moisturizing your skin is so important even if you’re oily! (try an oil free lightweight one) your skin can look very dull and flat when you’re tired so its very important to give it the moisture it needs.

#4 Use eyedrops to get rid of the redness. Don’t over use them though or they can dry your eyes out.

#5 Use a facial spray like Evian, Mario Badescu Rose water, etc.. for additional hydration.

#6 use a foundation that has a slight glow. (For those who are extremely oily, you can use your regular matte foundation) Using a dewy foundation will make the skin look more youthful and less tired and deprived.

#7 Highlight as much as possible. Highlighting will reflect light off the high points of the face and make the skin look healthy and dewy. Try a highlighter that isn’t too shimmery that way it will look more natural.

#8 Highlighting the inner corner of the eyes. This will make your eyes appear more open! If you have close set eyes or small eyes, this is a trick you would benefit from on a daily basis!

#9 use a shimmer shadow on the lid. If you do matte all over the lid, it can make the eye look more dreary and tired. Using a shimmer will bring attention to the lid in a positive way.

#10 Highlight the brown bone. This will make the arch of your brow seem higher and create an illusion of having more space between your crease and brow making your eyes appear more open.

#11 Use an eyeshadow just a little darker than your skin. Blending a shade in your crease area will lift the eye as long as its not too dark. Dark shadows can do the opposite and bring the eye down. Bobbi Brown Toast, MAC Soft Brown & Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie are all great options.

#12 Curl your lashes! this is HUGE! Even if you cant do any other steps, curling your lashes will immediately open the eyes and give a lifted effect.

#13 Use a creamy white on your bottom waterline. I don’t use a true white because that can look unnatural. This will REALLY open the eyes up and make you look very fresh. But make sure to use your eye drops because bloodshot eyes with a creamy white liner is not cute.

#14 Bronze a little. When you’re tired or sick, your face can lose color. Using a bronzer will bring back some life to the face.

#15 Use a pink blush. Using a blush with a pink tone in it will make the cheeks appear naturally flushes and youthful.

#16 use a little color on the lips. Don’t go completely nude, because that can make you look lifeless. Since we are attempting to look fresh, glowing and awake, I would suggest a lip color with a pink or rose shade.

#17 GLOSS! adding shine to the lips will bring attention to them, making them look fuller.

#18 Incorporate some color. Wearing color in your clothes or jewelry will give you a more lively appearance.

#19 Incorporate some white. I chose earrings with some white in them. Wearing a shade of white will reflect light and help your case. Wearing black can make you look more tired & weighed down.

#20 Last but not least, DRINK!! Drink as much water as you can through out the day! Water has so many benefits its insane. Most of us are dehydrated and don’t even know it. Drinking water will hydrate you from the inside out making your skin healthy and reduce under eye bags.

Has anyone else tried Hydraluron by Indeed Labs? For what it is worth I am a biochemist by training (not at all affiliated with the makers of the product) and I recently tried this and am so impressed. I would add it to this list as it makes your skin feel plumped and refreshed even if like me you do not get as much sleep as you should. Honestly I feel it does pretty much what glamglow thirstymud does at a quarter of the price. It is made in Canada and is currently only stocked at Walgreens. I just wanted to share the love since I think I stumbled upon a really great product.

The Sigma JUNE10 discount code you put in your references did not work…it would have been nice if it had as I spent over $160.00. Just thought I would let you know in case you weren’t aware. Love all your tutorials…it would be nice to see one for eyeglass wearers since we usually have trouble seeing while putting makeup on and then you can’t even see it under the glasses…and beautiful false eyelashes will never happen…..

This has nothing to do with this particular post but I just watched your latest video about haters etc. I didn’t know if I could comment on that YouTube video.
I just wanted to say that you have helped me in so many ways, I own and run a day spa and lately all I have been receiving is hate. I give so much of myself to my employees and clients that it’s drained me.
After watching your video, I feel lighter and happier about how I react to the negativity, everyone seems to think that if you’re successful that you can’t be hurt.
I personally think you are one of the kindest, sweetest people in the world and I hope no one ever takes away your light.
And to all those people who think it’s okay to talk like that to another human being, I hope whatever is making you angry goes away because there’s nothing uglier than a bully.

Tks Laclyn for the tips…they really helped a whole lot…But I´ve a question: what kind of fundation do you recommend for oily and mature skin? Also I´d like a recommendation for a great concealer as well (again for mature skin).
Thanks again so much…I simply love your videos…

You mention in several videos, including this one, how important it is to your routine to wash, moisturize, and apply eye cream. You also have said a couple of times that your morning routine is different than your night. We all know you use purity, but what moisturizer and eye cream do you use? I see in your favorites that you like the glamglow masks, and I’m assuming that’s what you use for night. I have the same dry problems you do and have tried so many to find the one I like the best for the morning before makeup. Thanks for all you do, girl!
